CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities

Project Description:

I was hired by the Institute to help create a new website and blog that would better enable them to engage with students as well as inform and connect with potential donors. The project lasted little over a year and was aided by an outside design firm helping us design the back-end while I focused on the front-end design. The client wanted something that was clean and modern but also academic. The site needed to balance academic professionalism with a more dynamic outreach ability to engage students and those interested in sustainability. To achieve this I designed a site where all events, media, and internships were displayed prominently while academic materials were set back, though still easy to find.

The blog for the Institute was designed to be more dynamic with more frequent updates about more general topics not specifically relating to the Institute. The design was intended to complement the design of the home website while being distinct enough to differentiate the two.
